Leading off our October 2019 Fall Classic Auction is an autographed card of a man who was made for baseball in October (and November!): Derek Sanderson Jeter. The stats on his postseason résumé place him among baseball's greats: 111 runs scored (ranked #1 all-time), 200 hits (#1 all-time), 32 doubles (#1 all-time), 5 triples (tied #1 all-time), all while posting a sparkling .308 batting average. Owner of five World Series championship rings with the New York Yankees, Jeter made his Major League debut for the Bombers on May 29, 1995, playing in 13 games for the parent club before being sent back to the AAA Columbus Clippers. At some point during the '95 season, the soon-to-be HOFer inked the rare card offered in this lot, a 1995 Signature Rookies Future Dynasty Autographs card. This unique card features a home-plate shaped action photo of the shortstop set within a distinctively-colored marbled background and accented with gold foil. Hand serial numbered 531/1050, it bears a picture-perfect navy blue ink autograph from the Yankee Captain. Stated in 90s lingo, this card is da bomb!

However, most incredible of all is the immaculate condition of this piece of 24-year-old cardboard. With its clean edges, sharp corners, and virtually flawless surfaces, this card has been awarded a PSA 10 Gem Mint grade, the one-and-only example to earn this lofty mark from the Newport Beach authentication company. In fact, we've never sold a specimen graded higher than a PSA 8, which proves just how scarce and special this card is, especially in top grade. This one comes to us from a noted private collector who had assembled the #1 ranked Derek Jeter Master Set on the PSA Set Registry, so it has irreproachable pedigree to boot. From an investment standpoint, we firmly believe that this is one of the finest rookie era Jeter autographs in existence, with plenty of room for future appreciation. And from a collector's standpoint, this is one of the tougher early-career certified signatures of the living legend to track down. We simply cannot recommend this card enough.
