A noticeably high-end PSA 8 graded example of one of the toughest late 1950s Topps cards to find in high-grade. Strong NM-MT to mint corners and edges frame a mint image that sits a few hairs north of center. Gino Cimoli may not have been the most skilled or popular player on the 1957 Brooklyn Dodgers squad, but he made the league's All-Star team that season. The following year, when he led off for the newly relocated Los Angeles Dodgers on opening day, he became the first-ever Major Leaguer to step up to the plate on the left coast. After being traded to St. Louis for the 1959 season and then to Pittsburgh in 1960, he enjoyed playing a minor but important role in the Pirates' 1960 World Series victory over the Yankees, and in 1962 he led all of baseball with 15 triples for the Kansas City Athletics.

Again, Cimoli may not have been the most skilled or popular player on the 1957 Dodgers, but to old ball card collectors he remains famous (if not infamous) for quite another reason: Cimoli's 1957 Topps baseball card has eluded high-grade collectors for over half a century. Long known to be the set's most challenging card to find in top tier condition, only a single copy has ever graded higher at PSA than the offered NM-MT 8 specimen. Given that anomaly, and recognizing the obvious high-end qualities of the offered example, we're confident in calling it one of the finest examples in existence.
